Draft template — final text pending counsel review

This is a working draft, published early rather than held back: the rest of the site makes commitments about how Pressmerit handles data, and they should be checkable somewhere. The structure and the substance below describe how the platform actually operates. The wording is not final, and everything marked in brackets is settled with counsel before launch.

The sections below describe how the platform works, so that the contract they become does not surprise anyone who read this page first.

What the service is

Pressmerit is a digital-PR and partnership collaboration platform. It helps a subscriber find sites relevant to what they publish, verify a work contact, prepare a request, and — when the receiving side agrees — verify that the resulting placement stays live afterwards.

What it is not: a marketplace, a stock of pre-agreed placements, or a party to whatever two sides agree between themselves. Subscribers pay for platform actions at the prices published on the pricing page; Pressmerit takes no share of anything arranged between a subscriber and a publisher.

The receiving side is free. Reading a request, discussing it, accepting it and declining it cost a publisher nothing, and declining needs no account at all.

Accounts, subscriptions and credits

The commercial terms follow the published pricing page: one subscription, credits for per-action work, and no fee attached to an individual placement.

[PLACEHOLDER — subscription term, billing cycle, credit expiry, cancellation, refunds and price changes, to be aligned with the pricing page and settled with counsel]

Acceptable use

These rules are the reason a platform like this can exist without becoming a nuisance to the open web. Breaking them ends an account.

  • No bulk harvesting. A contact revealed to you is for contacting that site about that collaboration. Exporting revealed contacts into a separate list, reselling them, or feeding them into an unrelated campaign is prohibited.
  • No deceptive outreach. No impersonation, no false claims about who you are or what you are offering, no misleading subject lines, and no implying that a message comes from Pressmerit rather than from you.
  • No contacting an address that is on the do-not-contact list, and no attempt to route around a suppression.
  • No automated re-sending to a publisher who has already declined.
  • [PLACEHOLDER — enforcement steps, notice and appeal, to be drafted with counsel]

Link attributes and editorial control

Whether a link carries rel="sponsored", rel="nofollow" or no attribute at all is decided by the publisher and the requester between them. The agreement records what was chosen so that verification can check the page against it, and Pressmerit neither requires a particular value nor grades one above another.

Editorial control stays with the publisher. Nothing is ever published from a publisher’s site by Pressmerit: they publish, and verification is a fetch of the public page afterwards. An anchor an editor rewrote shows up as a warning on the request, not as a breach of anything.

What we do not promise

No guarantee of a placement, a reply, a ranking or traffic. Publishers decide for themselves, search engines rank for their own reasons, and any tool that implies otherwise is describing inventory it already controls.

Figures shown in the product — traffic estimates, Domain Score, match ratings — are estimates, labelled as estimates, and are not warranted to be accurate.

[PLACEHOLDER — warranties, liability caps, indemnities and force majeure, to be drafted with counsel]

Changes, suspension and the rest

[PLACEHOLDER — term and termination, suspension for acceptable-use breaches, how changes to these terms are announced, governing law and dispute resolution, to be settled with counsel]
