Cookie policy
A short page, because there is very little to describe. This site sets one cookie, runs no advertising or cross-site tracking, and counts page views with two tools that store nothing in your browser and do not run at all until you allow them.
This policy covers the marketing site at pressmerit.com. The signed-in application is a separate surface and is described at the end.
What this site sets
One cookie, set by the routing layer that decides which language version of the site to serve. It records the choice so that a later visit lands on the same version.
It is strictly necessary for a function you asked for by choosing a language, so it does not require consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive. It contains a language code and nothing else, and it identifies no one.
There is no advertising pixel, no cross-site tracker, no fingerprinting and no profile assembled from a visit here. That is the standing position, and this page changes before any measurement tool is deployed rather than afterwards.

The consent card, and what it stores
On a first visit a card asks whether measurement may run. Nothing is counted before you answer it, and closing the card without choosing is recorded as a refusal rather than as a question we may ask again.
Your answer is stored in this browser, under the key pressmerit-consent, using local storage rather than a cookie. It holds the categories you chose and the moment you chose them. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it exists so the card asks once instead of on every page. Storing it is strictly necessary in the same sense the language cookie is: it is what makes your decision hold.
You can change that decision at any time with the Manage consent link at the foot of every page. Switching a category off takes effect immediately, and the page reloads so that anything already running stops.

The analytics we run
Page views are counted with two tools, Vercel Web Analytics and Plausible Analytics. Both are documented by their vendors as cookieless: neither sets a cookie, and neither stores a persistent identifier in your browser. Each derives a short-lived hash from request characteristics to tell one visit from another, and neither hash is retained beyond the day it is generated.
Both sit behind the statistics category of the consent card, and neither script is loaded before you allow it. Because they are cookieless, Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive would not require us to ask. We ask anyway: a consent card whose refusal changes nothing is not worth showing you.
What we receive is aggregate: pages, referrers, countries, device categories. There is no route back from any of it to an individual reader, and we cannot single you out with it. Vercel Inc. and Plausible Analytics OÜ act as our processors for this, each under a data processing agreement, and both appear in the subprocessor table in the privacy notice.
If you arrived from an email
A link in a request prepared through Pressmerit carries an identifier for that request, so the page can open the right one. It travels in the URL, not in a cookie, and it identifies the request rather than the person opening it.
Opening that page sets no cookie and records no state. A page load alone changes nothing about the request: email security scanners follow links automatically, so the platform treats a visit as a visit and waits for a deliberate action before recording anything.
We do not use tracking pixels in outreach mail, and we could not: the mail leaves the subscriber’s own mailbox rather than ours, so open and click tracking of that kind does not exist on our side.
Your controls
Manage consent, at the foot of every page, reopens the card with your current choices loaded. Refusing measurement costs you nothing: every page works the same either way.
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies and local storage, and clearing ours costs you nothing beyond having to pick a language again and answer the card once more. Nothing on this site depends on a cookie to function.
Because we run no advertising and no cross-site tracking, there is no advertising opt-out to offer you and no third-party preference centre to send you to. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are respected by default, in the sense that there is nothing here for them to switch off.
The signed-in application
The application at app.pressmerit.com sets a session cookie to keep you signed in, and a preference cookie for interface settings you choose. Both are strictly necessary for a service you asked for, and neither is used for advertising or shared with anyone.
The application runs no analytics beyond the aggregate, cookieless counting described above.
Changes and contact
If we add a cookie or a measurement tool, this page changes before it is deployed, not afterwards. Where the addition needs consent, it is asked for first.
